On 30th January Peace Day was observed in the school, it being the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The frame of Gandhiji was garlanded with the backdrop ‘peace within radiates around’. These words on the backdrop aptly summed up the theme of the day.
A prayer service that incorporated readings from various religious scriptures was conducted. A meaningful skit was enacted on the lines of a street play in Hindi and English. Peace is a priceless gift that springs from within and radiates all around. Love and acceptance of oneself lead to the spreading of peace. This sentiment was brought out through the skit.
Sr. Superior, Sr. Theresa Joseph who graced the occasion was then invited to address the school. She emphasized the need for us to be at peace with oneself and to take up the spreading of peace as a serious responsibility. At 11 am in response to the siren that was sounded, all stood in silence to pray for peace and to pay homage to our Mahatma.
