We began the celebration of Tridum in preparation for the 140th anniversary of first FMA missionary expedition on 11th November 2017 by highlighting the theme of the day during the Lectio Divina praying and Reflecting over it. On this first day our Animator Sr. Alka Almeida carried the Word of God together with the words “GO” symbolizing the missionary dimension of Jesus who commissioned his disciples to go to all the nations to proclaim the good news.
On 12th November 2017 we paid our tributes to the first missionary sisters who went to the mission land, to signify their great work the globe was set up in the sanctuary with the symbol of ship, lamp and the picture of our first missionary sisters. “Da Mihi Animas”and “ Mission Ad Gentes” theme helped us to understand the vigorous zeal of our first sisters to go far away countries without any preparation. The display of the word “Send Me” was revealing our inner dispostion to be missionaries wherever we are.
On the 13th November 2017 the reflection over the very words of our Pope Francis “ The mission at the heart of Christian faith” had helped us to celebrate this day in a meaningful manner. We remembered today all our departed missionary sisters and offered our prayers for them.
14th November 2017 was indeed a happy day to celebrate the great event of 140th Anniversary of First FMA missionary expedition. We had a meaningful service together with our children offering different symbols which brings forth the significance of missionary impulse of first sisters. We thanked God for this missionary dimension in our institute and prayed for the grace to fill us with same zeal and ardor of our first missionary sisters.
