On 22nd of September 2017 a bright and beautiful Friday the ADMA (Association of Daughters of Mary Help of Christian) group 18 members undertook a trip to Sulcorna to visit the Mornese Vihar headed by Sr. Natal Rodrigues. We reached there at 3.45 pm and were warmly welcomed by the sisters of Mornese Vihar community. There among whom was our very own Sr. Ines Monteiro who was brimming with joy on seeing us. A special Eucharistic celebration was arranged for us. It was celebrated by Fr. Bernadino SDB. It was a dual celebration that day as it was the birthday of Sr. Rosy Superior of Sulcorna and Mrs. Emiritas Fernandes our ADMA member.
In his homily father stressed on the importance of our heavenly Mother Mary Help of Christians and exhorted us to pray to Her piously, for she never forsakes any one he added. He also spoke of the statue of Mary Help of Christians which is erected on the hill and her miraculous powers in protecting people and reaching out to the community beyond our imaginations. In short he gave us the history behind the plan of erecting this statue on the high mountain. Now every 24th of the month there is Eucharist is being celebrated on the hill at 5 pm.
After tea and snacks we were all set to trek up to see that miraculous statue which is restled amid the verdant hills of Sulcorna. We were informed by Fr. Banadino that a lot of miracles take place there through the intercession of our Mother Mary, but he also warned us that it would be an ardors trek up there, yet all of us decided to undertake that walk up the hill where the statue is posed. We had a wonderful experience traversing the hill with a lot of obstacles on the way, however with our heavenly Mothere’s help we reached the top and were amazed to see the awesome statue. After a few prayers were raised, it was time for us to return so we clambered down the the hill and into our bus. At 6.30.pm to return home. Surprisingly we did not feel too tired, it was really refreshing and we felt joy on seeing the huge statue of Mary help of Christians.
