On 7th October 2019 Ms. Celine Martins, the psychologist conducted a seminar for the KG I section parents of Auxilium Baroda (Eng/Guj Med) on “Child Development”. Through various examples, she made the parents aware of their great responsibility of bringing them up in the right direction. She said that the child learns in her life not only by studying but more by listening, watching and observing. Parents should carry out their difficult yet challenging tasks with a lot of care during the early stages where the child learns to say yes/no. Try to keep a personal relationship with a child and do not substitute with mobile or any other gadgets and to give them healthy food.
She also spoke to KG II parents on emotional development, skill development, and sexual abuse. As the child grows they must learn to be independent especially eating, packing their bags, etc. During this stage, the child speaks, questions and always listens. The parents should spend quality time with children and set an example for them.
She also spoke to the KG section teachers and told them as a teacher they need to be patient with the children. When the children need their attention they should give them, listen to them and she also spoke about ADHD, those children who are hyperactive to make them do some activities and to explore a child’s capacity.
