AMAR # 1054 Diwali celebrations at Shirva!

The boarders at Auxilium Niwas, Shirva were thrilled as Diwali celebrations were held on 28th October 2019 for them organized by Sr. Monica Shera. A meaningful Prayer Service was held in the quadrangle square with the place being lit up by diyas and candles and the children sitting around in a circle, praying and singing imploring God to light up their minds so as to be able to choose good over evil.

Mrs. Maria Jacinta, lecturer of St. Mary’s P.U college Shirva was the Chief Guest of the celebrations. The message she gave them was how evil was fought and there was a triumph of goodness.  She exhorted them to implore God’s help so that they may have the courage and strength to do away with darkness in their life.

On 29th October 2019 Diwali celebrations were held at the Shirva market area in the hall of the Hindu temple organized by the Hindus of Shirva.  At the request of the Parish priest Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa who is heading the Inter-religious committee of our Parish, our boarders put up two dances keeping in mind the theme of “Light”. Both the dances were much appreciated by the people. Sisters and boarders participated in the programme which was from 4.30 – 6.30 pm.
