25th Nov’ 19 was an exciting day for the scouts and guides of Std VIII of Auxilium High School – Caranzalem, as they got an opportunity to take part in their first outdoor activity, namely rafting. They had to prepare their own raft of bamboo, pet bottles and waste thermocol. They left for Vaddem Lake, Vasco at around 8.30 am along with Sr. Esperanca D’Sa, three Scout Masters, Sir. Clive, Sir. Jose and Ms. Bellaxa and Guide Mistress Ms. Margaret. The dignitaries present at the venue were Sir. Mukund Kambli (District Training Commissioner) and Ma’am Elizabeth Mascarenhas (State Training Commissioner, Goa State). Sir. Kambli helped the students in preparing the raft and in conducting the activity. Madam Elizabeth came as a guest but accompanied the students in the raft prepared by them. She spoke to the students on the importance of maintaining the logbook and working for the Rajya Puraskar. The students enjoyed the day and expressed their desire to have many more activities of this sort.
