Auxilium Convent High School, Bandra, Pali Hill Secured the Greenest School Award in the Green School Campaign 2019-2020 during the Award ceremony on 29th February 2020. As part of the award, the Maschio Foundation announced a cash prize of Rs. One Lakh to Auxilium Convent High School, Bandra, Pali Hill. The success of this project is largely due to the enthusiasm and the active participation of the students and teachers, capably led by Mrs. Yolanda Ferreira and Sr. Judy Gaikwad.
The Green Schools Campaign is an exciting hand-on programme, open to all schools in Mumbai, that educates children on their responsibility towards the environment and also offers them the opportunity to actually be involved in relevant environmental projects. This campaign took off in 2010 with 12 participating schools and that number has grown to over 50 schools.
The topic of the year 2019-2020 was “Breathe Free’. The activities for the year were carried out by the students of the Eco-Club under the guidance of Mrs. Yolanda Ferreira and Sr. Judy Gaikwad. The team constantly made an effort to refine their green practices and took up new initiatives is what made their environment programme unique.
