On 7th March 2020, the School was graced with a visit from the General Councillor, Rev. Sr. Phyllis Neves. All the sections assembled in the school at 7.00 am Sr. Phyllis accompanied by the Provincial Secretary, Sr. Supriya Noronha arrived at 8.30 am from Mumbai. They were greeted by the animator, Sr.Teresa Joseph, Sr. Sheela Furtado, the headmistress and the other Sisters.
Sr. Phyllis was escorted amid cries of welcome and smiles to the convent. A little later Sr. was led to the school by dancers who had lined up on both sides. A traditional ‘aarti’ was performed at the school entrance. The students waved flowers and sang the welcome song. The programme began with the prayer dance incorporating readings from various religious scriptures. Cultural dances of Maharashtra were staged by students of primary and secondary sections. Our young gymnasts presented a skating and aerial yoga display.
Sr. Phyllis addressed the school. She was full of appreciation for the efforts of everyone. Sr. Phyllis exhorted the students to do their best. She also extended an open invitation to all of us to visit and connect with her and with any Salesian community in any part of the world. Sr. Phyllis willingly obliged every group of dancers who invited her to click pictures with them. After the programme, Sr. Phyllis met the staff and addressed them. She thanked everyone for their collaboration.
The visit of Sr. Phyllis Neves brought down God’s copious blessings on everyone. We are grateful for her loving visit to the school.
