The community of Jag Prakash Kanya Chatralay honoured our Blessed Mother during the Marian Month which began on 16th July 2020, on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, with inaugural prayer where Sr. Nayana Vankar lighted the lamp as a sign of our pledge and willingness to enter into the spirit of the Marian Month.
The theme that was chosen was “Fill the Jars with new wine” in connection with our General Chapter where we deepened the virtues of Mary like openness, commitment, foreseeing attitude, acceptance, obedience and cheerfulness. Due to epidemic of Covid-19 the practices that we had taken during this month were more of prayer and reflection on the life of Mary. Every week we had the Lectio Divina and viewed the apparitions of Mary, the Rosary was daily animated creatively, ‘Goodnights’ on the devotion of St.John Bosco to our Blessed Mother. Through all these we deepened the love for our heavenly Mother who leads us daily on the life to holiness.
On the feast of Assumption we concluded our Marian Month with a prayer service and the Marian Nite. We also had plantation along with the teachers and sisters in our school campus. It was a time and a blessing for us to know more about our Blessed Mother and grow in our love for her. May this month spend help us ahead in our journey to be like our Blessed Mother and help people in the suffering moments of Covid-19.
