AMAR # 1327 Celebration of DB at Nandgad.

On 30 January 2021, Auxilium- Nandgad celebrated Don Bosco’s feast. We also commemorated Peace Day as we remembered Mahatma Gandhiji, the Father of our nation.  We began with a prayer service, thanking God for the gift of St. John Bosco and asking Him to grant peace, health, and wholeness to our broken world. Our students beautifully enacted a few incidents from the life of St. John Bosco and sang hymns to honour Don Bosco.

Sr. Rita Fernandes, the animator exhorted the students to “to dream big and work hard to fulfill the dream.”

Don Bosco would tell the boys, ‘Run, Jump and play but do not sin’. We put these words into practice as we conducted mini – sports day for our students. Each class teacher conducted various lively games like sack race, potato race, running race, tug of war, kabaddi, throw ball matches both for boys and girls as well. Students enjoyed these moments together with much cheer and laughter in the air that resounded in the campus after a long period of lockdown. It was indeed a memorable day both for Sisters, teachers, and students.

In the afternoon we had short get-together with our teachers and workers in honour of Don Bosco.

31 January was indeed a joyful and spirit-filled day that brought together the priests and sisters from Khanapur Zone to celebrate the feast of Don Bosco. The Salesian priests from Hubbali were also present to share in our joy.

At 6 pm, we had a solemn Eucharist celebrated by Rev.Fr. Albert D’Souza, a diocesan priest from Belgaum. In his homily, he spoke eloquently of Don Bosco. This was followed by a festive meal. It was indeed a family get- together.

Long Live Don Bosco!
