“The New Education Policy and innovation in teaching methodology.” Keeping this theme in mind, Auxilium Convent School, Nandgad organized a half day orientation for all the teaching staff on 10th July 2021. The event commenced at 9.30 am with a short prayer moment then a warm welcome was extended to all the new teaching staff by offering them roses. Introductory speech was delivered by our new Head mistress Sr. Jyoti Pinto. The day was animated by Fr. Joseph Rodrigues SDB. He introduced “Kegan’s” revolutionary teaching method with various cooperative structures like ‘The Round Robin, Jigsaw and Round table structures followed by the basic principles of PIES:
P – Positive Interdependence
I – Individual Accountability
E – Equal Participation
S – Simultaneous interaction
The sessions were very much motivational, interactive, effective, and creative with innovative games, videos, action songs and PPT’s. Teachers were enriched by new skills of cooperative learning.
The days programme motivated our teachers to perform better even during these challenging times. Everyone felt helpful and grateful for this unique opportunity. The programme ended with the vote of thanks followed by snacks.
