To create an overall eco consciousness the Eco Team conducted an online webinar on 18th July at 3:15 till 6:00 p m for the communities of our Province. All the local Eco Coordinators were present. Three speakers were invited and were given particular topics to speak on. Miss. Shivangi Kanodia spoke on the practical steps of being Eco friendly. She made us aware of the importance of the proper disposal of waste, how to make waste a resource and energy. She emphasized on adapting a mindful living and following simple tips to go zero waste. She also shared many examples from day today living which we could do as well.
The second speaker Mrs. Tallulah D’silva spoke on the theme “The menace of plastic and me”. Through her well prepared PPT presentation she facilitated a better understanding of how plastic kills every living organism and how it is so very harmful and full of toxin. She shared about herself and the awareness that she creates through her sessions and getting involved with so many other people from every age to take concrete actions in society to get rid of plastic.
Mrs. Pauline the third speaker gave us a lively input on how to prepare compost in a simple way. First she explained the procedure and then actually gave a demo. She also gave us some tips on how to make some energizers for the plants at home. At the end of each session the sisters who were appointed, thanked the speakers for their well-prepared sessions and for taking time off their busy schedule to impart skills and knowledge to us.
The Eco Team then took over and shared the Annual Action plan 2021-22 with the sisters, explained it and made certain things clear to the participants. The meeting ended at 6.00 p.m. greeting and thanking one another.
