The 31st of August was a special day in Auxilium High School, Caranzalem – a day we honoured our SSC toppers of the year 2020 -21. The students who scored the highest overall percentage in school were awarded a trophy, a certificate and a scholarship. Different scholarships were given to deserving students and to those who scored highest marks in individual subjects. The scholarships for individual subjects were given at the hands of the subject teachers. The remaining awards were handed over to the students by the Chief Guest of the day – our retiring teacher. Tr. Bertha Nunes. This day was her last working day in Auxilium High School.
We are indeed grateful to Tr. Bertha, who served this institution for 40 long years with much passion, dedication and love. She has touched and moulded so many lives, training them not only in subjects but also in music, singing and public speaking. She has imbibed in them Christian and human values and has helped them grow in self-confidence, to face the world with courage and enthusiasm. She has been loyal to the management and a loving companion, guide and friend to her co-teachers. Auxilium Caranzalem will indeed miss her. A fitting farewell was given to Tr. Bertha the previous month. Her family members too were present on the occasion. Both the management and the staff took this opportunity to express their sincere thanks to our beloved retiring teacher for the service she rendered for the past 40 years. Tr. Bertha too thanked all the past and present superiors, headmistresses, sisters and teachers she had worked with. The teachers put up a short entertaining programme for her along with a few student representatives. We wish her God’s abundant blessings as she begins a new phase of her life.
