‘FLORA EXPO 2021’marked a green event at Auxilium Convent High School, Vadodara the on 23rd September 2021. In keeping with our theme ‘HOPE FOR THE EARTH AND HOPE FOR THE POOR’ and the ‘SEASON OF CREATION’ we had an exhibition displaying a variety of ornamental, aesthetic, indoor, medicinal, perennial, foliage and aquatic plants.
The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and jubilation as we participated in the Expo. The event began on a note of gratitude and appreciation to God for His marvelous and splendid creation. Our Principal, Sr. Philomena Lobo warmly welcomed the gathering with a brief introduction to the ‘Flora Expo’. The ambience in the basement bore a festive look splashed with vibrant flowers and plants brought by the teachers, students and sisters.
We began by getting to know the botanical and local names of the various species of plants on display.We witnessed a harmonious blend of notes as the teachers, section-wise, broke out in song. The basement resonated with cheers, laughter and applause.We exchanged saplings; a beautiful gesture of hope as we entrusted to the other a delicate life to nurture.
None of our celebrations conclude without having heard our School Manager. Sr. Priscilla Travasso, in her concluding speech, asked us to connect with nature and safeguard the environment for a better world. Wholehearted participation and encouragement was witnessed from all quarters of the school.
Let us be protectors of God’s plan inscribed in nature, ‘Laudato Si’.
