AMAR #301 Christmas celebration at Ahmednagar

On  20th Dec. We had a Christmas party for our NCP children. The programme began with a welcome song and dance, enacting the Christmas tableau, depicting the birth of Jesus together with Christmas carols. Sr. Gonsalves Collette then gave the Christmas message highlighting the importance of the birth of Jesus and what is the significance ofthis feast. There were a good number of children from different villages as well as their parents and others present too. In two villages, it was for the first time that such a progamme was held. Snacks and a piece of cake were distributed to everyone present. The programme ended with Christmas wishes.

On the same day we had a Christmas party for our   5 project school children. The day began at 9.00 am with a Christmas party for Nagapur children. The teachers and children were very much excited and eagerly waited for the event. We started with a small prayer moment, invoking God’s blessings and asking the Baby Jesus to bless the children. This was followed by a short enactment of the birth of Jesus which was beautifully portrayed.  Then Sr. Gonsalves Collette highlighted the importance of this act of God becoming man and coming to us in the form of a baby. The students and teachers were very much taken up by the story and the historic event that really happened more than 2000 years ago. Many of them have seen and heard this story for the first time and came to know the real truth. The Head Master and other teachers were very much grateful to us for depicting to them the truth of our Religion. They were very much appreciative and thankful to Sr. Collette.

On the 21st of December, the Salesian Cooperators held a Christmas party for the Laura Vicuna Niwas Boarders. Mr. Kedari, our president spoke to them on how they should be grateful for all that they receive and become good human beings. He wished them the peace, joy and happiness of Baby Jesus.  The boarders were very happy.

This was followed by the meeting of our Co operators with our Provincial Rev. Sr.  Rita Dora, who was on her Provincial visit. Sr. was pleased to see their zeal and love for the Institute.
