The 12th of March 2018 was a remarkable day for the women of Kunegaon. There were 95 women were present for the celebration. The programme began with a prayer service which was animated by Sr. Carol Nunes. The boarders performed a prayer dance which lifted up the minds to the Almighty. Sr. Carol welcomed the guests and honoured them with a shawl and a coconut. The honourable guests were Sr. Moksha Anthonappa, Sr. Aruna Castelino, Mrs. Mila Castelino and Sr. Cecilia Crasta. The guests and the women were welcomed by a welcome song. Sr. Moksha conducted an ice-breaking session. This was followed by a street play by the candidates which depicted how people take advantage of young girls and   women.  Sr. Moksha showed a video clipping on ‘Muskan’ a little girl who makes a difference in her own home. Later they were divided into groups and each group was named after a famous personality. The women had to formulate slogans for the occasion.

Rev. Fr. Peter Rodrigues celebrated the Eucharist and asked a few questions to those present. In his homily he conveyed the message that all the women should have equal right and respect in the family and society. Parents must give opportunity for the girls to educate.

After lunch the women gathered in a group for the discussion on the movie ‘Muskan’. Sr. Cecilia spoke about the importance of children’s education. The women enjoyed the group games and received prizes.

Sr. Teresa Dharmaraj the animator of the community gave the concluding message which was to make best use of the boarding and the school and to educate the children.  Sr.Vaneeta Khristi thanked all the guest and women present.
