The classes VII A,B,C conducted reach out activity in the society of Lonavla. The purpose of the activity was to generate awareness about the sustainability of the environment. So the students of Std. VII made nearly 2500 paper bags and cloth bags and distributed to the vendors, hawkers and the shopkeepers of weekly Friday market which runs in the Lonavla city. Children conducted a rally from the school to the market, raising slogans about not using non-biodegradable material and insisting people for using cloth and paper bags.
Local press was also available. They took photographs clippings and interviewed children. Next day this incidence was published in the newspaper and telecasted in the local TV channel.
While on our way back to school, the CEO along with the other official of Lonavla Municipal Corporation invited the children to their office. They addressed and appreciated the student’s initiative in this move.
The students were very enthusiastic and felt satisfied after conducting the activity.
