On 16th April 2018, Eusebia Welfare Centre Sisters began the SUMMER CAMP. The theme was SUN TIME FUN TIME. We had seventeen children from 4 to 13 years of age and the youngest one was two years. It was a new experience for the first time to have the tiny little ones with us. We began the Summer Camp on 16th April 2018 and concluded on 27th April 2018. The timings were from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Every morning we began the Summer Camp with a short prayer asking the Lord to bless & protect the children and the Sisters. We shared with children a story/an incident based on different values on each day, speaking to them about the cleanliness, respect, discipline, hard-work, and protection of themselves and their siblings, good manners, honesty, to save environment, punctuality, use of time and prayer. Though the children were few yet there was more of responsibility and on children’s part there was willingness, interest to learn and also to remember what was taught.. The activities we had were drawing, painting & magic painting, craft, flower making, preparing key chain, hand-writing, hair dressing, dance, action songs, sandwich making, games etc. It was joy to hear from parents, Sisters you have done a good job, better still taught the tiny ones really to be useful. “Well done Sisters”, that was the appreciation we received. We had an outing on 25th April to Empress Garden, Pune. Everyone enjoyed to the fullest. On 26th April we had a Thanksgiving Day. We thanked God for our Mother General, spoke to children about her, and thanked Sr. Wilma de Souza for the Sun Time Fun Time Summer Camp. The children received gifts and snacks. On 27th the children came as usual and played, learn few more things, spoke to us and enjoyed themselves. We gave them a drink and snacks, they were all grateful and wished us goodbye.
