29th June is one of the most awaited days in our Salesian calendar. It is a day filled with joy and delight, prayers and blessings, song and dance and not forgetting scrumptious food. Why? Because it’s our Pope’s day! Viva Papa!!!! As we all know, Don Bosco had a great devotion to the Pope and told his boys to do the same. He made the Pope’s wishes his command. As faithful daughters, we too keep up this devotion on the 29th of June. We began our celebrations on the eve of the 29th by a simple yet solemn prayer service. After reflecting on the saints of Peter and Paul and praying for our Holy Father, we celebrated the Holy Eucharist.

We wished each other and kept up the festive mood. As evening approached, our excitement increased too. We had a little programme consisting of a skit depicting the famous dream don Bosco had of the ‘Two Columns.’ We wished all present once again through our festal song. We invited the sisters of the Maria Vihar community to join us in our celebrations. But that was not it. The best was still to come – the Quiz!.

We tried our best to cramp up all that we could last minute but relied on Divine Providence and of course the Popes to help us. And guess what they did.! After seven rounds of questions, puzzles and fancy dress competition we learned much more about the Popes than we had read. At the end of each round, the winners kept changing so all we competing with each other to be the winners at the end of the round. It was indeed an enjoyable and entertaining day at SHTC.
