On the birthday anniversary of Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, 15th October is observed as Reading Day. In our school, this day was observed in a grand way. During the morning assembly, our school librarian Mrs. Anjali welcomed our Principal, Sr. Sheela Furtado, Supervisor Ms. Rebecca John and Sr. Shobha D’Souza.
The pictures of Sr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Savitribai Phule and a basket of books were garlanded. A speech on Sr. Kalam was delivered by the School head girl. Teachers gave speeches and recited poems on the love of books and reading A Maharashtrian style dindi (procession) was carried out. Sr. Sheela addressed the students on the significance of the day. A student proposed the vote of thanks. During the day classes were held where students read their textbooks and prepared summaries which were displayed along the corridors. The school librarian Mrs. Anjali had also prepared an exhibition on books on the ground floor of the school.
