As an annual event, our school conducted the Science Exhibition under the title “Apurva Vigyan Melawa” to develop scientific attitude and critical thinking in students. The selected project is improved upon and sent to INSPIRE Awards.
The science teachers guided the students to prepare their projects preferably working models with scientific principle and application. The projects are also treated as internal work for internal assessments for the Science subject.
The three best projects from every class were selected for the Exhibition Day. The Chief Guest for the Science Exhibition was our Sr. Manager Rev. Sr. Josephine Fernandes and our Principal Sr. Sheela Furtado. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Sr. Josephine by cutting the ribbon and launching a rocket at the entrance.
The programme began with an introduction by Shivani Singh of Std. X B followed by a speech by Tr. Sangeeta, enlightening us about Dr. Homi Bhabha’s contribution to Science.
The Chief Guests went around inspecting the projects which were arranged in the school basement. Students explained and demonstrated the working of the projects and the scientific principles quite confidently and enthusiastically.
The students of the whole school were taken to the exhibition. The parents too were invited and more than 100 parents visited the exhibition between 1 noon and 1.30 pm. They appreciated and encouraged the children for their work. The closing ceremony was held at 2.15 pm with a speech by Tr. Vaishali and the vote of thanks were proposed by Asst. Head Girl, Heral Rodrigues.
It was a good, enriching and profitable learning experience for everyone.
