AMAR # 895 Social Work Co-ordinators Meet at Wadala!

  The Social Work Co-ordinators Meeting was held in MYC Wadala on 26th -28th July organized by Sahayini Director Sr.Moksha Anthonappa. The local social work coordinators of various communities along with their lay social workers were present. Altogether they were 23 participants. The resource persons from PRATYeK NGO were introduced. PRATYe NGO is working in the different states of India. Their mandate is the formation of Neighborhood Children’s parliament.

On 26th and 27th July, the main focus was NCP (Neighborhood Children’s Parliament) Training.  The training began with the introduction to NINE IS MINE campaign of PRATYeK NGO. The sessions were on the role of the Facilitator, explanation on wants and needs, introduction and principles of UNRC, rights, and responsibilities, Introductions to child rights, child participation ladder, Children parliament process, PRA (Participatory rural appraisal) introduction to life skills module, federation at the state level. All these sessions were conducted creatively through a powerpoint presentation, activities, group work, workshops, mock sessions, games, and energizers.

At the end of the training, the feedback and suggestions from participants were taken into consideration. Participants expressed that they were enlightened with the lively sessions. Now they have a correct idea of forming and conducting NCP meetings. The NCP concept is useful to create leadership qualities in children, they become protagonists to fight the battle against injustice and become responsible and honest citizens of our country, thus contributing towards achieving sustainable development goals of 2030. On 27th the action plan was prepared according to state–wise like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa-Karnataka.  At the end of the two days of training, the resource persons were thanked by Mr. Pravesh and Ms.Delphina.

 On 28th the assembly gathered and the prayer was animated by Sr. Smitha Monis, she highlighted the hardships of the poor and the marginalized. Each group according to their state presented the NCP- action plan of their center. Sr.Manisha Parmar gave the feedback and she gave them valid suggestions to realize the Action plan. She also appreciated the efforts of the groups and encouraged them to carry out this plan with enthusiasm.

Sr. Mangla Kolge and Sr. Manish Parmar facilitated the planning of the Mega-event of NCP gathering in the month of April at MYC Wadala. The roles and responsibilities were distributed to the Sisters and laypeople. After that, each center shared the main issues and success stories through their Annual report. Sr. Moksha Anthonappa thanked and appreciated the participants with a token. The meeting was concluded by expressing gratitude on behalf of the participants.
