AMAR # 940 Cooperators at Ahmednagar visit a Migrants' Home!

On 31st August, the Laura Vicuna Niwas Savedi Salesian Cooperators unit visited the home run for the migrants.  Mrs. Youraj Gund the social worker who is inspired by the good Lord to do this noble work.  We went at 1.30 pm. Had interaction with the children. They performed some programme by showing their talents and what they have learned so far. Their performance was commendable.  Everything was done in good spirit and precision.  Then Mr. Youraj gave us some information about the NGO. It is run for the girls and boys. The migrants, who come from different walks of life in search of jobs and to earn money.  Their main business is robbery and their children do the same. So there is not much interest and longing for education.

This NGO does not get any help from the Government. They try to help and support themselves by the individual donors and charity base. At present they are staying in a bungalow offered by a Doctor. There are 106 children staying in that place.   Mr. Youraj and his team are doing their best to educate them and make them a good citizen. We were glad to hear about their ambition in life. They were very happy with our visits. Our future plan is to adopt two or three children for their education. Our Unit is happy to visit such a place.
