CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION AT MUNDHWA-PUNE

Children’s day was celebrated on 15th November 2017 at Eusebia Pre-Primary School, Mundhwa, Pune.  The celebration was held in the Nursery hall and the backdrop displayed various colorful flowers with the wordings: “Children are like Flowers”. The Children were told that it was their special day. They were all dressed in colourful clothes of various fashions.  We teachers thanked the Lord for the GIFT of children, because they add colour, joy and beauty to life.  The teachers sang for the children and wished them Happy Children’s Day. A few games were organized for them, making them sing, dance and run around the hall with joy.  The sisters and teacher danced with the children and making them feel happy and excited. The children enjoyed to the full. Before going home, the children were offered lollipops and jeelabis . They were delighted and returned home happy.

The same evening, the children of the Remedial Classes were greeted by the Sister Teachers and were told about the significance of Children’s day and how they could be a source of joy to their parents if they studied well and behaved well.  Sr. Smitha Gonsalves spoke to the children about the importance of life and the necessity to study and help their parents and make them happy through their good results.  They should make use of every opportunity of learning and growing into beautiful people.

Later that evening we had the visit of Sr. Moksha of the Social Development office and Sr. Sunanda of Auxilium Koregaon Park Community who accompanied Mr. Francis, Co-ordinator of the Remedial class programme. He had come to visit the children and give them tips on how to study well and grow up into healthy and active citizens of India. The children welcomed the Guest with a few words of welcome and sang a welcome Song of blessing for their generosity.   Mr. Francis asked them a few questions and enlightened them about their rights as children. Mr. Francis taught them the four important RIGHTS out of twelve Rights that children should know about, that is the : 1. Right to Survival. 2. Right to Protection. 3. Right to Participation and 4. Right to Development.  They encouraged the children to learn about their rights so that they could grow up as active and enterprising young people of the Country.
