“Inspiring Change for Empowerment”

(Sr. Valerie Pereira) 9^th March 2014 was indeed a great day for Auxilium Centre – Velim. We the Sisters of Auxilium were very privileged to celebrate the International women’s day. Each woman was welcomed and made to feel unique by distributing the batches “I am Special” In the atmosphere of excitement the celebration began with a prayer moment on the theme: “Inspiring Change for Empowerment”, followed by the lighting of the lamp by Superior Rev. Sr.Josephine Fernandes and the representatives of the six groups. Sr. Nathal Rodrigues the co-ordinator of the SHG’s welcomed one and all to this great event.

We began the programme with two sessions based on Human Trafficking, Health and hygiene was conducted by Sr.Nathal and Sr. Macline Dsouza with power point presentations.  In order to bring some more life to the programme Sr. Valerie Pereira conducted a few fun filled, interesting and exciting games for each group, with lots of spot prizes. It was great to see that all the women actively participated in these games.  There were many surprises for the women. An entertainment programme commenced by the, remedial class children, computer students and a song was sung by the children of Masters Stephen and Steven Fernandes. After which snacks and gifts were given. At the end we had a surprise game for all the women that is playing with water balloons. They were very happy and thanked the Sisters for organising this day and making it a happy one.
