Missionary week at Sulcorna!

Missionary week at Sulcorna!

To mark 140 years of the first missionary expedition, at Mornese Vihar, Sulcorna, we the Sisters, along with our boarders celebrated a Missionary Week. It commenced from 11th September to 17th September 2017. Remembering our first Sisters, we started with the Holy Eucharist and thanked God for their generosity in offering their lives at the service of poor and the marginalized. We implored God’s grace on all the missionaries toiling in different parts of the world.  Activities were conducted to the Sisters and boarders to make this a significant week. During the Rosary, we prayed for all the missionaries especially for our FMA missionary Sisters. A candle was lit symbolizing the light of faith that they handed over to those who not yet received it and prayed for them that they may rekindle the fire of God’s love and be more effective messengers of His great Love. ‘Goodnights; were based on the first missionaries. We also spoke spontaneously about the life of our missionary sisters and their zeal for the kingdom of God. A beautiful mission corner was prepared to remind ourselves of the 140th celebrations. Boarders were kept busy by way of quiz and enacting on the life of missionaries and we ended the week by watching an inspiring movie on St. Joseph Vaz –the valiant missionary who went from Goa to Sri Lanka. This week-long activities helped us to know more about our missionaries and that has taught us many good values and virtues and helped us to be little missionaries in our community by being a witness of God’s love and mercy to each other and specially to our boarders.
