29 December, Caranzalem: This past month has been a special month for the State of Goa. The exposition of the sacred relics of St. Francis Xavier has drawn thousands of pilgrims not only from different parts of the country, but from different parts of the world too.
Our community at Caranzalem has been a home for many of our sister-pilgrims from the different communities of our province and one visit that was outstanding was the visit of our sisters of the community of Bannerghatta, Bangalore.
They kept in mind not only the exposition of the relics of the saint but also the Golden Jubilee year of our dear Sr. Audrey Dias. Along with their visit they brought much joy and cheer. With great enthusiasm they sang the ‘Congratulations’ Song, and honoured the jubilee girl with a ‘ponnade’ (golden shawl). They also offered her and the community golden gifts.
We are grateful to them for their visit and also to all our sisters who visited us and stayed with us during the past month. May St. Francis Xavier implore God’s abundant blessings on each of us.
