140 year of the first missionary expedition and Children’s Day at Sulcorna!

November 14th is a very special day to every Indian child. Children are the important portion of our life. They give meaning and cheer to our life and mission. We, the sisters of Mornese Vihar celebrated children’s day on 14th November 2017.

We began this day with Mary invoking her blessings on our children by praying the Rosary and with a meaningful Eucharist at 8:45am in the school. We thanked  God for the very presence of our children who bring colour and meaning to our boarding. It’s because of their presence that we have a mission and it’s because of us that they have a future.

This day was filled with lots of surprises for them. In the evening we put up few games at 4:30pm, it gave us immense joy to see the children enjoying to their heart’s content. We also put up a short entertainment programme that surprised them and brought joy and laughter in their heart. They cheered us with their lively noise. This day indeed was a memorable day for all our children and for us too.

The celebration of 140th years of our first missionary expedition added more beauty and meaning to this day. We began this celebration with the vigil service on 13th November  that gave a start to this day, the following Sunday on19th November we had a solemn Eucharist in Don Bosco chapel, Fr. Jacintho SDB was the main celebrant.  It was beautiful to have a celebration with the people. They loved and enjoyed each part of this celebration. After mass we distributed snacks. We came home with grateful hearts thanking God for all His blessings especially for the gift of these our six missionary sisters.

May God our Father use us all to spread His love and peace to the whole world.
