The Chapter members awakened to the last day of the Provincial Chapter with gratitude in their hearts. The theme for the day was, ‘Missionary communities in the shared educative mission’. We began our day adoring the Lord, led by the community of St. Joseph Training Centre, Lonavla.
The first session of the day was initiated by Sr. Philo Lobo invoking the Holy Spirit. This was followed by voting for the final draft of the answers and deliberations. Fr. Joe Rebello msfs, the Parish Priest was the main celebrant for the Holy Eucharist. He exhorted us to renew our missionary daring, be a sign of hope and joy for the young, be ordinary and at the same time special and reflect seriously on the type of religious we need for the future.
At 3.30 pm we gathered before the Eucharistic Lord in prayer and discernment to elect the delegate of the Province to the General Chapter. This was followed by the elections. The Assembly rejoiced at the election of Sr. Philomena B. D’Souza as the delegate to the General Chapter XXIV. We congratulated Sr. Supriya Noronha who was elected as the substitute to the General Chapter XXIV. We joyfully felicitated them with a bouquet.
Sr. Ritha Dora the Provincial expressed her thanks to all those who contributed to make the Chapter a fruitful one, especially the Chapter moderator and the Provincial Chapter Commission Team. Sr. Teresa Joseph presented the programme for the centenary celebrations of the first missionary expedition to India (1922 – 2022). The Chapter Moderator, Sr. Rita Lobo thanked the commission, the assembly and province at large for their wholehearted support and collaboration. After the creative and entertaining photo presentation of the day, the Provincial gifted a token of love to all the Chapter members.
With this, MM Mumbai witnessed the conclusion of the 7th Provincial Chapter, ready to be the New Wine in their respective communities.
