We, the Sisters at Mornese Vihar, Sulcorna, along with our boarding children celebrated the festival of Lights on the 23rd of October. We began the celebration with the prayer moment on power-point presentation, prepared by Sr. Jeena Bandya. The lamp was lit by the animator Sr. Natal Rodrigues and a few boarders symbolising victory over evil, conquering sadness that prevails in broken hearts.
God is light and there is no darkness at all in him. In the silence of our hearts, we all thanked God for giving us the gift of light. This festival brought to us the message that each of us is called to be light to others, to brighten the lives of others by radiating goodwill all around.
In the evening after the prayer moment, we had a Rangoli competition. Each group actively took part in it and presented creative designs. The children danced and sang joyfully and the joyous day came to a close by distributing snacks to all and wishing peace and love to all.
