On 29th November 2019, the Sisters and Candidates of SJTC Lonavala began the Novena for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The leaders of the groups got together to plan for the same, accordingly Mother Mazzarello group beautifully decorated Our Lady in the chapel. The group of Teresa Valse creatively put up notice boards, and the Don Bosco group decorated Our Lady’s image outside the chapel. All 9 days and on the feast day, the Rosary and the morning Angelus was animated very meaningfully by the candidates which helped the community to pray with much fervor and devotion with the help of the animation sent to us by the province with the theme: 150 years of “acts of the love of God” with the reflection of the place related to St. Mary Mazzarello. The leaders of the different groups took keen interest to animate the Liturgy for the Feast.
The vigil service was animated by Priyanka Tirkey (Postulant), on the theme ‘MARY FREE FROM ALL SIN AND FULL OF GRACE’. It included the important role played by Mary in the lives of Don Bosco and Mary Mazzarello. The Morning Prayer was creatively animated by Flavian Fernandes (Postulant), on the theme ‘Through Mary Immaculate, the whole creation has been renewed’. We prayed this Morning Prayer along with nature in the open. The entire community praised and thanked God for His creation. To mark the day Sr. Jacinta Moisan prepared a delicious cake. In the afternoon, the Community had a court to Our Lady, two by two for half an hour each. The Rosary was animated by Shweta Saulea (Postulant) in procession with candles.
All the candidates enthusiastically and joyfully participated in the novena and celebrated the feast with much fervor. It’s a truly memorable experience.
