AMAR # 1085 Celebrate the birthday of Jesus with the less fortunate at Aux-Velim!

It was really exciting to figure out as to how God is at work in Our ADMA group in  Auxilium Centre, Velim. ADMA members along with the animator Sr. Precilla D’Souza are highly public-spirited people who have a lot of affection for the poor and the needy children of our Velim migrants. By taking this view into consideration the ADMA group has decided to bring the kingdom of God nearer to the migrants’ children. The ADMA group members under the leadership and mentorship of Sr. Precilla D’ Souza had conducted a reach-out programme cum Christmas celebration to the children of the migrants of our surrounding village and they were 38 in number. On 15th December, the programme commenced at 3:30 pm. Through the skit which was prepared by an ADMA member Mr. Clint Fernandes the message transmitted was purely based on how we all could experience Christmas and as to how we all could stand as a witness to the promise of the Christian life. The skit was well accepted and appreciated by the children and also organized a few team games like bombarding the continents.

After the games, the children were shown a few videos like those Videos of Laudato Si “Pope calls to save the Mother Earth”. Videos like that of I am Mother Earth, I am water I too have life, and Videos of Man and the Ecosystem were shown to them and Sr.  Precilla D’ Souza also gave them a short talk as to how they can make a difference in their life and that of the earth on which we all live. She also emphasized that there is an urgent need for the protection of the earth.  There is an immediate need for the protection of the water due to the scarcity of drinking water and told them what measures they as individuals can take to protect the water and save the water from being scarce.

After the talk, the children were served snacks and refreshments and every child was given a gift a smiley pouch, a pen set, and chocolate. The programme ended at 5:00 pm with the closing prayer conducted by Sr. Precilla D’Souza. The members of the ADMA group along with the children left Auxilium praising God for all the blessings.
