AMAR # 1124 Inter-Religious Week at Auxilium Pali Hill, Bandra!

Auxilium Convent High School, Pali Hill celebrated the ‘inter-religious week’ from 20th January to 24th January 2020. The theme of the event was “Thy kingdom come”. Each day, one religion was highlighted by one class along with their class teacher.

The special features of this week were: calling a guest speaker for each religion, a secret friend, sharing of special dishes, exchange of gifts, etc. The students did their best in putting forward their thoughts about the rich culture, worship, sacred scriptures and holy persons of each religion.

On the first day, Mr. Hemant Sawant from Larsen Toubro in corporate HR and a Gym trainer spoke on Hinduism and motivated the students to live in unity. On the second day Mrs. Saba Patel, the Headmistress of Anjuman Islam Girls’ High School eloquently expressed her ideas and the truths about Islam. Fr. Michel David from the Parish of St. Anne’s Parish, Bandra enthusiastically presented the essence of Christianity and encouraged all to be humane. Mrs.  Mandakini More shared her thoughts on Buddhism and Mrs. Tejal Mehta with a simple explanation made us aware of the various principles and practices of Jainism.

The last day, 24th January was a day of inter-religious celebration. The day began with a meaningful prayer moment. The students revealed their secret friends, exchanged gifts, shared their special dishes with each other and made the event a memorable one.
