AMAR # 1126 Republic Day at Auxilium Lonavla!

India’s  71st Republic day was celebrated by the whole school . The Auxilium Lonavla school campus was alive with the activities of students and sported the colours of the Indian tricolor everywhere “Diversity yet Unity” was the theme on the backdrop everyone celebrated this spirit of unity, a hallmark of our Indian Republic.

The school leaders escorted the Chief guest Mrs. Shanta Mohanan, the senior-most teacher of the secondary section, our manager Sr. Theresa Joseph, Headmistress Sr. Sheela Furtado, and the march past judges. The Chief Guest hoisted the flag. The salute our national anthem and a patriotic song followed the hoisting.

A prayer service incorporating the highlights for the nation and prayers for India was conducted. The Guests were honoured with saplings. Colourful Drills were performed by students of primary and secondary sections. A meaningful skit called attention to the role. We are called to play as Indian citizens. Then followed a yoga display where the youthful, agile bodies of our students caught everyone’s attention. The house wise march past competition was the highlight of the programme, where the students put their best foot forward as they marched in unison.

Sr. Sheela addressed the school with her speech that called everyone to reflect on the true meaning of Republic and Indian citizenship. The Chief Guest announced the prize winners of the march past competition. The vote of thanks brought the curtain down on the year’s Republic Day celebration.
