On 1st March marked the Women`s Day celebration at the Deanery level. Around 255 women participated in this event held at Jag Prakash Kanya Chatralaya –Pansora.
The programme began with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev.Fr Cyril Dias, the Dean of the Umreth diocese. During the homily, he spoke on the significant role of women at home and the society at large. This was followed by lunch and games wherein all the women participated wholeheartedly. Later there were resource persons for the day Mrs. Anandi Pravasi, Mr. Ramesh Khristi and Mr.Sailesh Khambaliya who spoke at length on women and their various issues encouraging and appreciating the women folk for their valid contribution in various fields.
This was interspersed with dance performances by varied groups of women. Sr. Nayana Vankar, the animator of the community concluded the Women`s Day celebration with a note of thanks to all those who collaborated in making this event a huge success. As a remembrance, a take- away gift was presented to each of them.
A vote of thanks was presented to Sr. Nayana and the Sisters for the success of the celebration.
