On the 2nd March, the community warmly welcomed our Visiting Councillor Rev. Sr. Phyllis Neves. At the entrance of the house, our boarding children danced to the rhythm of the song- Gumar Gumar and traditionally welcomed Sr. Phyllis in the land of Gujarat. Sr. Phyllis met the boarding children and even enjoyed dancing the Garba with them. Sr. gave the ‘Goodnight’ to them and each of them was given a bar of chocolate and a gift.
The 3rd March was a blessed day for us at Pansora, wherein Sr. Phyllis was officially welcomed. The programme began with a prayer dance presented by the boarding children followed by the lighting of the lamp. The different sectors of our mission-the School, Boarding, the SHG women and the village tuition children presented varied dances expressing their sentiments “Your presence is our joy.” Sr. addressed the gathering and thanked them for their presence and their presentations.
Sr. Phyllis Neves later met the Educating Committee which comprised of the School teachers, the non –teaching staff, the parent representatives, the helpers, the boarding in charge, the tuition teachers and the social workers representative. They had an interactive meeting wherein they shared their joy of being a part and member of this community rendering service with love and joy. It was a joy to meet Sr. Phyllis personally and share our vocational journey. In the morning on 4th March Sr. Phyllis gave a conference to the community exhorting us to be the fresh new wine and thus express it in our daily living.
At the close of the visit, Sr. expressed her thanks to the community and left for Bombay.
