AMAR # 1219 Inauguration of the Golden Jubilee Year at Auxilium Caranzalem!

The 14th of March 2020 was indeed an auspicious day for each of us who form part of the Auxilium family at Caranzalem, a day long-awaited for with much joy and excitement. We came together to celebrate the beautiful journey that began in 1970, which has taken root, grown and has spread its branches, touching many lives and spreading the light of education and knowledge. This institute which had a humble beginning has now gloriously reached its 50th year, the Jubilee Year.

In the presence of Sr. Phyllis Neves, our Visiting General Councillor and Archbishop Rt. Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrao, we joyfully inaugurated our ‘Golden Jubilee Year’.  These two special guests unveiled the logo of the Jubilee Year after which we had the solemn Eucharist celebrated by our Archbishop. Our Parish Priest, Fr. Ciprian D’Silva and Rector of Don Bosco, Fr. Evan Carvalho too graced the occasion with their presence. With grateful hearts, we, the Sisters, the teaching and non- teaching staff, the Cooperators, the PTA core committee, the past pupils and well-wishers gathered on the Auxilium School Grounds to praise God who has accompanied us all through these past 50 years of grace.

We remembered with much love and gratitude, our benefactor and donor Mr. and Mrs. Monteiro, our first pioneers, Sr. Giovanna Castelli, Sr. Bertha D’Gama and Sr. Rose Braganza and all those persons who have joyfully given their services to help us reach this joyful day.

During the thanksgiving Eucharist, the Archbishop thanked the Sisters for all the good they do by their presence in Caranzalem and encouraged all those who form a part of this family to continue giving their best to be of service to society. With the theme, ‘Golden Years of Grace’, we stepped into this Jubilee Year, looking back on the past with nostalgia, on the present with thanksgiving and on the future with a sense of expectation and hope.

After the Holy Mass, we had a moment of togetherness. Snacks were distributed to all and each one received a souvenir of the Jubilee Year.
