“You now belong to a religious family that is all Mary’s. Let your beautiful title of Daughters Of Mary help of Christians be your glory and often think that your Institute is to be a living monument of Don Bosco’s gratitude to the great Mother of God under the title of Mary Help of Christians”. These were the words that echoed front the Heart of Don Bosco on the feast of our Lady of Snows as our first sisters pronounced their firm “Yes” to God. 148 years ago humble beginning of the Institute of the FMA has spread its branches far and wide, sheltering many young people under its shade. We who belong to this great big family surely have a reason to celebrate because God in His great love has invited us too to be part of the covenant which he made with Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello.
Today , we the Sisters at Maria Vihar community were happy to thank God for the three strong unbreakable bricks in the living monument that is our Sr.Florie D’Mello (59 years), Sr. Margaret Annasamy (53years)and Sr. Philomena D’Souza (42 years) as along with many Sisters of our province celebrated their profession anniversary. During the prayer moments and during the solemn Eucharist we prayed for the entire institute and all our Sisters who celebrate the anniversary of their profession.
The sisters and novices also greeted sisters with a beautiful blessing song and flowers. The Sisters were much delighted to meet and wish their companions in the online meeting organised by our media team. In the evening during the recreation, the Sisters relived their old days as they were taken on a journey to the early days in the early houses of Madras province.
It is a great blessing and inspiration to all of us to have our Senior Sisters who are passing on to us the spirit of our first Sisters in Mornese.
