On 14th August we the sisters and the girls solemnly welcomed our Blessed Mother in our house and in our hearts as we began the Marian month for the year 2020. The double celebration of the solemnity of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother and the 74th Independence Day of our Country began with the solemn vigil service. The statue of Our Blessed Mother was carried and brought in the house by Sr. Joanna Lobo, symbolically welcoming a heavenly guest into our house. After that we had a vigil service animated by Sr. Minal Bhosale. The girls and sisters participated in it beautifully by singing and praying thus expressing their love for our Blessed Mother.
On 15th August the day began with animated Morning Prayer and a meaningful Holy Eucharist which set a tone for the entire day. At 8:30 am we had a Independence Day programme organized by Sr.Urmila Torane along with the girls. The programme began with the Flag waving by Sr. Joanna, after which the girls put up a beautiful programme consisting of singing patriotic songs, speeches in Hindi, Marathi and English, a mime based on religious tolerance.
In the evening the girls prepared dinner for all consisting of puran poli, a Maharashtrian dish to solemnize the day. Here at Anmol, we had a great day with Our Blessed Mother. We prayed for our country and experienced the love and concern of each other. It will always be a memorable day for all.
