The Scout-Guide unit of Auxilium High School took the initiative of celebrating Women’s Day for the mothers of our school children. Due to the pandemic, we had to restrict the number to 50. Our teachers too joined in the celebration. The hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Along with the Scout Masters and Guide Captains and a small representation of Guides and Scouts, we gave the women present, a memorable experience. Sr. Joanita Antao, the Manager, warmly welcomed them for the celebration, after which we had a meaningful prayer moment. Dr. Nelly De Sa was the resource person for the day. She gave the women some important tips on health, hygiene, and nutrition. She also told them about the important role they play in society and the need of having good self-esteem.
During the programme, our students who won the Second Place for the Dance Contest and Third Place for the Skit Contest, for the Media festival organized by the province were given their prizes at the hands of Dr. Nelly De Sa and Dr. Agnes Prazaves. After the distribution of snacks, we had exciting games and spot prizes for them which they enjoyed thoroughly. A group of boys put up a dance while the music teachers of the school along with the students sang songs to entertain them. Before they left, they were presented with a take-away gift.
