Education is not preparation for life; but life itself. John Dewey

The Management of Auxilium Convent High School, Vadodara, organized an orientation program from 22nd July, 2021, to 31st July, 2021 for students of Std. I – XII of both the English and Gujarati mediums on the theme: Hope for the Earth, Hope for the poor.

Sr. Theresa Joseph, Sr. Melissa D’Souza,  Sr. Lavita Sequeira,  Sr. Smitha Gonslaves and   Sr. Sunita Dhabi (Guj. Med) through an online platform enriched the students on the year’s theme ‘Hope for the Earth and Hope for the Poor’.  The orientation made the students aware of the ecological crises that we are facing and how we could be the solution for a better tomorrow. It also sensitized the children to the problems of those who are marginalized or those living on the existential periphery.

The students were grateful for the orientation which helped them to understand how they have been causing harm to the earth unconsciously. They promised to take simple steps of being hope to the earth by starting their own kitchen garden under their supervision of the parents; to the poor by helping at least one family with their pocket money.

This orientation has inspired the students to be not just the future of the society but also it’s present.

Our sincere thanks to our Principal, Sr. Philomena Lobo, for having organized such an enriching and inspirational orientation. We are indebted to all our resource persons for having enlightened and enriched our students to care for the earth and the poor.
