AMAR # 1477 Girl Child day in Nandgad

“A girl child is a pride and the future of the nation. Empowering Girl child means empowering future”.

On 8th September 2021 we had a meaningful celebration of the Girl Child Day. On the previous day i.e on 7th Septembertheboys of our school wished all the girls. On the 8th September a video was forwarded on the whatsapp group of our school wishing all the girls.

          Sr. Rita Fernandes, Sr. Sunita Mothegar and Sr. Akshitha Lobo were invited by the Sisters of the Holy Cross to celebrate the Girl Child Day with the village girls in Kakeri. There were 59 young girls present.

From 11.00 am to 4.00 pm the entire celebration was conducted by our Sisters. The celebration began with the meaningful prayer and prayer dance. Sr. Rita Fernandes spoke about the importance of the Girl Child and how precious they are to the world. She also spoke about the importance of the education of the girls. Sr. Sunita Moteghar and Sr. Akshitha Lobo spoke about good touch and bad touch and also about the child protection act POCSO. This made the girls to know their rights. The programme was interspersed with games and actions songs which were conducted by the sisters. At the end of the celebration the girls received prizes, gifts and snacks.
