AMAR # 1586 Provincial Gratitude Day

Accompanied by Mary our Mother, the Sisters of M.M. Mumbai made a month-long journey building synodal communities by carrying for the poor and for Mother Earth. The 12 and 13th February 2022 was the days of culmination of the celebration as many Sisters rallied round Sr. Meenakshi D’Silva, Provincial to express their gratitude. The campus of Auxilium Baroda was decked with colours and smiling faces. This time it was unique as both the welcome and the cultural programme was solely performed by the teaching and the non-teaching staff.  After the typical welcome the Sisters proceeded to the chapel where Sr. Iona Barreto helped us to by creatively animating the vigil service.

On the following day the Morning Prayer was meaningfully animated by Sr. Nayana Vankar and by the Sisters of the community of Pansora. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Vincent Saldana SJ. Fr. Vincent preached on the theme of the synodal community.  The cultural programme was innovatively done. The local economers along with the Province Economer Sr. Rita D’Souza were given special honour and were recognized for their service in the province during this Gratitude Day.     On this joyful day various books like Making Melody music book, Sing Praise, poster of departed Sisters and the other books were released. We thank all those who are part of this great achievement. We thank God for the gift of each Sister of our Province especially the elderly who have worked tirelessly to make our Province what it is today.
