Since Teacher’s Day was on a Sunday this year, Auxilium Caranzalem celebrated it on 10th September 2022. This year being the centenary year of the arrival of the first Missionary sisters to India, our theme for this day was ‘Thanks a hundredfold’ as we thanked God for each and every teacher and Staff member of our school community. The celebration began with a short prayer service thanking God for the gift of our teachers and for their dedicated service. This was followed by a very colourful and grand program by our students.
The students sang a festal song for the teachers to start with the program, then they put up various cultural dances from five different States of India including a Goan dance staged by the students of the Primary section. The teachers were delighted to see their students in large numbers on stage displaying their talents, it was indeed a proud moment for them.
After the program, there was a Solemn Eucharistic celebration for the teachers to pray for them and thank God for them, the main celebrant was Fr. Pio, the Parish priest of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Caranzalem who gave them a few tips on being good and authentic educators.
This was followed by a sumptuous lunch for the Staff members offered by the community of Caranzalem. All of them were grateful for having been felicitated and honoured for their self-sacrificing commitment and we were grateful to them for being our close collaborators in the quality education of the young.
