AMAR # 1842 Van Mahotsav Celebration at Auxilium – Pali Hill

The Van Mahotsav celebration at Auxilium School – Pali Hill, in collaboration with BMC – H Ward was a grand event held with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of trees and the need for environmental conservation. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, sisters and teachers, creating an atmosphere of joy and learning. The event began with Tr. Yolanda Ferreira in charge of eco- club, welcoming the superior, Sr. Teresa Plathara, Principal, Sr. Shiny Alphonse and the BMC support staff with a sapling. One of our students, Miss Sidra Qureshi of Std VIII spoke eloquently about the significance of the day.   On this occasion new eco- club members were initiated with the pinning of the badges by the superior and principal. Eco- club members sang melodiously “The earth is my home “conveying the message to conserve the environment which is our home.

To enhance the educational aspect of the event, Sr. Shiny exhorted the students to play their role in preserving the environment.  She also emphasized the importance of tree plantation as a means of combating climate change and creating a greener future. After the programme sisters, teachers and few students planted trees in and around the school along with the BMC support staff.

In addition to the tree plantation drive, the Van Mahotsav celebration showcased various artistic displays by the students.   Pot painting, Rangoli and drawing competition related to environmental themes were conducted.   By actively participating in tree plantation drive and artistic displays, the students gained a deeper appreciation for nature and the urgent need for its protection. The event served as a reminder that every small effort counts in safeguarding the environment and fostering a sustainable future.
