On March 5th, 2024, Auxilium Convent High School in Vadodara had the privilege of hosting Sr. Edna Mary MacDonald from Australia for an enlightening seminar on Don Bosco’s pedagogy and the preventive system. Attended by 70 teachers from Auxilium Baroda, Dakor, and Pansora, the event commenced with a warm welcome and invoking God’s blessings on all gathered for a day of deep learning.

Sr. Edna Mary’s passionate narration shed light on the profound impact these visionary leaders had on education, emphasizing the importance of the preventive system rooted in reason, religion, and loving-kindness. She eloquently elaborated on the educational philosophies and methodologies implemented by both saints, stressing the need for educators to cultivate a nurturing and supportive environment for students.

Critical pedagogy, socio-cultural evolution, and the significance of adopting a growth mindset were among the topics discussed, as Sr. Edna Mary emphasized the transformative power of education. The interactive session provided a platform for educators to exchange ideas and strategies for implementing the preventive system in their classrooms. Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Sr. Edna Mary shared insights into her mission in Samoa and the Solomon Islands, concluding the day on a note of appreciation and thanksgiving
