Laura Vicuna’s feast

The house feast of Ahmednagar was celebrated with great pomp and religious fervor, in the school as well as in the community. The day began with a cultural programme in the school wherein the life of blessed Laura was beautifully portrayed through a short skit followed by a song dedicated to her. The theme of the day was “Sin is ugly…Virtue is beautiful”. The students took part in drawing, poster and rangoli competitions highlighting the theme. Games were conducted in the classes by the class teachers for all the children.

In the evening, our boarders enacted the life of Laura Vicuna in Marathi together with songs and dances and our co-operators were invited to celebrate this day with us.

 Republic day

With deep patriotic fervor and love for our motherland, we celebrated our 68th Republic day in Auxilium- A’nagar. The Chief guest for this auspicious occasion was none other than our own past pupil Mr. Gaurav Pawar who is soaring the skies in his profession as a Pilot.

The event was packed with various items and began with a meaningful prayer service, invoking God’s blessing on our Country, it’s leaders and all the citizens.

House-wise march past competitions were held and the general proficiency prizes were awarded to the deserving students by our Chief Guest, Sr. Teresa Plathara and Sr. Latha Arogiaswamy. The ‘Tree plantation’ programme was organized outside the school campus by the “Janiv Foundation” which is a social unit.

Peace rally

Our young Auxilians once again gathered together for a noble cause on January 30 – the death anniversary of the ambassador of peace – Mahatma Gandhi.  The entire staff together with the students set out on a peace march in the vicinity of Auxilium Ahmednagar carrying placards of peace, justice and non-violence, creating an awareness among the citizens of the need and importance of peace in our troubled society.

The assembly began with prayers for peace which was followed by the speeches of 5 esteemed guests from different religions who spoke and exhorted the gathering to be messengers of peace, avoiding any kind of fights in the name of religion, caste, creed, race or colour.

Feast of Don Bosco and the farewell of our X and XII std. students

Don Bosco’s feast revolved around the theme “Family – where life begins and love never ends”. Some incidents from the saint’s life were beautifully presented through a short skit, spiced with appropriate hymns dedicated to him. The inter-house dance competition focused on the theme and our young dancers creatively unraveled the importance and worth of a family in today’s era.

In the afternoon, our school bid farewell to our X and XII std students, wishing them good luck and success in their future. Sr. Latha Arogiaswamy and Sr. Teresa Plathara presented them with mementos as they move out into the world to prove their worth and soar high to achieve their goals.
