AMAR # 351 SALFAM DAY IN KURLA

By Sr. Catherine Fernandes

The SALFAM Day was held in Don Bosco Centre of Learning – Kurla on Sunday 21st January 2018. This annual celebration was unique, with a huge gathering of Salesian Co-operators, Past Pupils, members of the ADMA, SDB and FMA numbering around 150, from our Units of Gujarat and Maharashtra.

The Chief Guest was Fr. Savio Silveira, Vice Provincial, who gave us an eloquent homily at the Eucharist, reminding the Salesian family that we have been chosen by God for a common mission.  After a cordial welcome from Fr. Colbert Da Silva – Rector of DBCL, the SDB Delegate of the Salesian Family Fr. Diego Nunes addressed us; he was delighted to see the hall packed to capacity. The hosting Unit welcomed each Delegate with a floral bouquet and a gift.

Fr. Dr. Joe Braganza, Delegate of the Kurla Unit, gave a lively presentation of the Strenna, “Let us cultivate the art of Listening and of Accompaniment”. Some Units added colour to the day’s programme with their skit and song and poetry; Mr. Amar Prabhu, Co-ordinator of the Past Pupils Unit together with Mr. Rajiv Mehra the Secretary, kept us in good spirits with a few games.

Sr. Catherine Fernandes, FMA Delegate of the Salesian Family proposed a vote of thanks for everything and for everyone, especially to the Kurla team headed by Fr. Joe, the Past Pupils and Salesian Co-operators for the well-organized, enjoyable and truly Salesian day, which came to a close with a luscious lunch!
