AMAR # 416 SOMETHING UNIQUE HAPPENS IN AUX-CARANZALEM

Communicare Trust’ in an International collaboration trust between Portugal and Goa. They have recently launched a book titled ‘Stories from here and beyond’ arising out of a unique collaborative project involving the school students from Auxilium Caranzalem, Goa along with Alberta Menezes School, Sintra, Portugal. The book is authored by 400 pupils (200 students from each school). The students from both the schools have contributed their ideas and messages on the subject of water pollution. In order to make this accessible to a larger number of children, the book is written in four languages – English, Portuguese, Konkani and Hindi. Students from both schools were asked to write a story on the given topic and then exchanged it for illustration and animation. The students also created two animated short films based on both stories.

Though quite a lot of children in Auxilium are from underprivileged backgrounds, it was amazing to see that there is no difference in their way of thinking compared to the school in Portugal. All the authors of the book are given a copy of the book. One of the students from Auxilium School, Caranzalem will be chosen to go to Portugal on May 14. ON the same day the same book will be released in Portugal in the presence of the Ambassador to India in Portugal-K Nandini Singla and members of UNESCO.

A rare opportunity, isn’t it?
