AMAR # 421 Aux-Lonavla visits an orphanage

As a reach out programme, students of Std. IXA,B,C along with their teachers visited the Alpha Mission hope orphanage at Nagargaon, on March 17 and spent two hours with the children. This orphanage is a heaven of solace and comfort for the children who have a single parent and also for the orphans. The thirty young inmates of the house are all above five years of age. The two social workers Mrs. Jessy and Mr. Omega in the house were like angels of Mercy to these young and destitute inmates.

The Children (inmates) were introduced to us and we also spoke to each and every inmates. We entertained them with songs. Later, we shared snacks and refreshments with them. We also distributed gifts to them. They enjoyed the programme thoroughly.

The care shown to them by the workers at the ashram was indeed inspiring. It was obvious that our visit made the inmates feel very happy and gave them the feeling that someone from the outside world cared enough to spend time with them. Reaching out to these young children gave us an opportunity to share our own joy with the needy.
